A woman with long, wavy red hair and a black sweater with white floral patterns, smiling while sitting indoors near a plant in a room with green walls. Online therapy for postpartum anxiety and depression in California.

My passion is in helping people live more fully as their true selves, and to be the parent, partner and person they most deeply wish to be. I give thanks every day for my own beautiful daughter, who challenges me and inspires me to continue to grow.

How I Work:

My primary approach as a therapist is get to know you, as a whole person, at the pace you set. I find it useful to think about the big picture of who you are (your past story, your present struggles and successes, and future hopes and intentions) in order to facilitate your meaningful and sustainable growth. My training in psychodynamic therapy is foundational to the way I approach supporting you, and I will always continue to explore new treatment modalities while creating a personalized, creative therapeutic process for each person I work with.

I don't think of symptoms as problems to be gotten rid of, but as communication and information from our deepest selves: we can learn, develop more insight and grow from even the most confusing aspects of our experience with close and caring attention. I also find value in a feminist perspective-looking at the social and systemic contexts that surround us and infuse us with ideologies that may not serve us. Particularly at this era in history, it feels important to think about the way the world impacts us, as well as how who we are impacts our world.

More details about my clinical background:

I completed my Master's Degree in Psychology in 2008, and completed an intensive post-graduate training program in Infant-Parent psychotherapy and early childhood development at UCSF in 2009. I have also provided crisis and long-term counseling with individuals in abusive relationships, have worked with foster children and teenagers in crisis, and provided home-visiting assessments for people with disabilities and the elderly with the City and County of San Francisco. I have completed the Postpartum Support International Certificate Training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, advanced training in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Perinatal Mood Disorders, and many others. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#89718) in the state of California and have Perinatal Mental Health Certification from Postpartum Support International. I’ve had a private practice for over 10 years, and I’m dedicated to continued learning and growth through trainings, personal reflection, and in relationships.

I am continuously in awe of the parents I meet and would love to help you make this most evocative and profound transition a more joyous, fulfilling and connected one. You don't have to do this alone!
