Parenting
Whether we wish to parent how we were parented, or more likely, have some ideas of how things could have worked better, what’s often available in hard moments with our kids is what feels deeply familiar. It takes a ton of intentional, focused work to shift generational patterns.
The cool part is: the work we do for our kids in this realm also supports our inner kid. I love doing this kind of work. Parenting can feel really hard when it’s done thoughtfully but the rewards are profound and life-long. Therapy can help you find your footing, and find tools and company for the smallest to the biggest parenting questions.
We may be thinking more about our own childhood now that we are parents. Even though we may hope to do things differently, we aren't quite sure how.
By reaching out and finding a therapist we click with, we claim for ourselves a safe, confidential space to explore our lives more fully. We can ease friction and struggles that keep us from living comfortably as our whole, loved and loving selves. We can explore intergenerational patterns that we want to continue or shift into something new. Through our work as parents, we can find new and healthier ways for ourselves and for our children to cope with challenges. We can become fuller and more true versions of ourselves.
